Michael Walling is a graduate student pursuing a Master of Music in Percussion Performance and the UW-Drumline TA. From Clarksdale, Missouri, Michael completed his undergraduate degree in Music Education from the University of Central Missouri in 2020. While at UCM he marched three seasons in DCI with the Sacramento Mandarins (1 season) and the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps (2 seasons). He also marched a season in WGI with Gateway Indoor Percussion. Michael also served as a percussion technician and instructor for multiple years at Blue Springs South High School and Lee’s Summit High School while at UCM. Through these experiences he has gained a lifelong passion for teaching and continues to hone his skills in education whenever he can. When not working with the marching band, Michael’s favorite hobbies include bicycling, cooking, and racquetball.
