Jake Walker is pursuing a Master’s degree in Wind Band Conducting at the Mead Witter School of Music. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Northern Illinois University, where he led the Huskie Marching Band as drum major.
A native to Belvidere, Illinois, Jake taught at a number of schools across the Chicagoland area. He most recently worked as the 5th Grade Band Director at Hannah Martin Elementary in the Huntley School District 158 and as the Assistant Marching Band Director at Crystal Lake South High School in District 155. He is also currently a member of the Band Directors Marching Band, a marching ensemble made up of music educators from all across North America.
Outside of academic work, Jake enjoys contributing to the Everything Band Podcast as their Creative Director, running, traveling, and baking desserts.
