    • If a flute player has the ability to audition on a secondary instrument, they should prepare and submit audition materials for that instrument as well.
    • If accepted to the band, flute players will be assigned an alternate instrument that best suits their ability and needs of the ensemble.
  • Saxophone:
    • The UW Marching Band uses alto saxophones only. However, a saxophone player could audition on tenor saxophone if necessary.
    • If accepted to the band, tenor saxophone players will be assigned to alto saxophone or an alternate instrument that best suits their ability and needs of the ensemble.
  • Mellophone players may audition using a French horn or trumpet.
  • Sousaphone players may audition using a tuba.
